Control Engineering – Past, Present, and Future
Inaugural Lecture by Prof. Dr. Ir. Mohd. Azlan Bin Hussain
Department of Chemical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, University of Malaya
Malaysia Process Control Seminar 2017 (MPC Seminar 2017)
Malaysia Process Control Seminar 2017 was jointly organised by Advanced Process Control Group, Chemical Engineering Department, UTP, and Malaysia Process Control Community (MPC-C) on 12 September 2017 at Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS. The purpose of this seminar was to identify and disseminate key issues that contributed to the “missing links” between industry-academia with respect to process control in Malaysia. This event was held in conjunction with the PETRONAS SKG16.4 Process Control Forum which ran sequentially on the 13th & 14th September 2017.
1st National Process Control Competition
1st National Process Control Competition was held in conjunction with the UTP APC –MPC-C Seminar on 12th September 2017 at UTP, organized by Advanced Process Control (APC) Group of Chemical Engineering Department, Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS, together with the Malaysia Process Control Research Community (MPC-C). This competition was open to all undergraduate and postgraduate students from all Malaysian universities. The competition’s criterion was to develop and present a simple app for the design and tuning of PID controllers to a panel of judges. Booths were set-up during the seminar for participants to display/present their apps.
2ND COLLOQUIUM ON PROCESS CONTROL (CPC 2016)
CPC 2015 was organised at Curtin University, Sarawak in conjunction with the 10th Curtin University Technology Science and Engineering International Conference (CUTSE 2015)
PROCESS SYSTEM ENGINEERING SYMPOSIUM (PSOS 2015)
Process Systems Engineering Symposium (PSOS) was organised by Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS as a part of the 3rd International Conference on Process Engineering and Advanced Materials (ICPEAM 2014) at Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre.
3rd INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE OF CHEMICAL ENGINEERING AND INDUSTRIAL BIOTECHNOLOGY (3rd ICCEIB)
1st NATIONAL COLLOQUIUM on
PROCESS CONTROL (NCPC) 2013
The USM Process Control Research Group (PCRG) has organised the 1st National Colloquium on Process Control, where postgraduate students from public and private universities in Malaysia are able to share ideas and expertise.
- To provide a forum for direct exchange between postgraduate student in the process control areas.
- To provide a basis for future cooperation and exchange among the participants.
- To bring young researchers in the area of analyzing process and problems towards designing better process control system.
NCPC was launched by Prof. Ahmad Zuhairi Abdullah, Deputy Dean of Research, Postgraduate and Networking, School of Chemical Engineering, USM. The program was held at SERC complex, Engineering Campus, USM.
This colloquium, a first under MPC, managed to gather participants from 7 universities and successfully published selected papers into Journal of Engineering Science, published by Penerbit USM.
